Győr is one of north-western Hungary's most important cities, strategically positioned between Budapest and Vienna. The city has a strong industrial base, driven in particular by Audi's Győr plant, one of the region's largest employers. Its baroque centre is nonetheless charming, with elegant old buildings and riverside walks along the Mosoni-Duna and Rába rivers.
