District II is one of Buda's greenest and most sought-after areas, characterised by villas, family houses and quality apartment blocks. Rózsadomb and Pasarét are its best-known, quiet and affluent neighbourhoods, while the area around Margit körút is livelier and more urban, with shops and restaurants.
Most residents are families and higher-end tenants who want to combine peace and greenery with reasonable proximity to the city centre.
Getting around
The lower part of the district is served by the M2 metro at Széll Kálmán tér, trams 4 and 6, and numerous bus routes. Higher up the hills, buses are the main option and services can be less frequent.
